Baseball Recap: Lake Havasu Wins Going Away Against North

Lake Havasu's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the North Mustangs a 20-0 shutout. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Carson Lockman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brock Cross and Braden Towning did most of the damage at the plate: Cross went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Towning went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Lake Havasu is undefeated when Towning posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Colton Rohn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Lake Havasu kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Lake Havasu is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. This is the second loss in a row for North and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Havasu will venture away from home to take on Verrado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. North Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.
