Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Walsingham Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will head out on the road to square off against Walsingham Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Christchurch School with a sharp 20-1 win. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Seahorses recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Noah Brooks made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Brooks was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other pitching news, Lennon Koch looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, Joseph Petry was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cam Bergen, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christchurch School only posted an OBP of .391.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Walsingham Academy's offense. They lost 7-0 to Miller School of Albemarle on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Walsingham Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
Walsingham Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. It's a different story for Walsingham Academy, though, as they've only averaged .276. Will they be able to contain Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's hitters?
