In what's become a running theme this season, Omaha Westside gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Omaha South 64-40. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-17.
Omaha Westside relied on the efforts of Elise Pederson, who scored 14 points, and Kara Stricklin, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pederson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakelyn Joslin, who scored five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Millard North faced Elkhorn North in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Millard North fell just short of Elkhorn North by a score of 66-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Millard North has suffered yet this season.
Omaha Westside is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Millard North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.
Omaha Westside was dealt a bruising 66-34 loss at the hands of Millard North when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Omaha Westside was down 39-10.
