Basketball Game Preview: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Central Mountain Wildcats

Midd-West hasn't had much luck against Central Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Midd-West Mustangs will host the Central Mountain Wildcats at 7:15 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-15, which was the final score in Midd-West's tilt against Selinsgrove on Wednesday. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Central Mountain beat Jersey Shore 62-55 on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 193rd).

Central Mountain's win came from a few key players Midd-West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hunter Hoy, who went 10 for 20 on his way to 29 points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Wells, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Central Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Midd-West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
