Softball Recap: Whitwell Takes a Loss

Whitwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-2 to the Baylor Red Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.

Whitwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Ray, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Whitwell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Baylor, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Whitwell will welcome Rhea County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Baylor, they will head out to face off against Cleveland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
