Football Recap: Finneytown Comes Up Short

Finneytown played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Washington Blue Lions and fell 42-14. The Wildcats were down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

A big part of Washington's win came down to the chemistry between Sam Pfeifer and his top target Aden Osborne. Pfeifer threw for 325 yards and four touchdowns while Osborne gained 173 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Pfeifer racked up 132.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Pfeifer's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Noah Haithcock, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Finneytown's loss dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Washington, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Finneytown will face off against Madeira at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Washington, they will challenge Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
