Volleyball Game Preview: St. Laurence Vikings vs. Shepard Astros

St. Laurence has won three straight games at home, while Shepard has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Vikings will welcome the Astros at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Laurence got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 2-0 win over IC Catholic Prep.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Laurence took both sets by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Shepard beat Bremen 2-0 on Thursday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Shepard was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-15.

Shepard's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for St. Laurence, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

St. Laurence was able to grind out a solid victory over Shepard in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Astros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
