Basketball Game Preview: Springboro Panthers vs. Mason Comets

Springboro is 2-8 against Mason since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Springboro Panthers will challenge the Mason Comets at 5:00 p.m. Springboro will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Springboro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 45-32 win over Upper Arlington.

Meanwhile, Mason entered their tilt with Perrysburg on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 66-22. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Mason's win came from a few key players Springboro will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Madison Parrish, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 15 points and five assists. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Habra, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Springboro pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Mason, their win bumped their record up to 24-1.

Springboro was able to grind out a solid victory over Mason when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 71-64. Will Springboro repeat their success, or does Mason have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
