Softball Recap: Sycamore Takes a Loss

Sycamore lost against Oak Hills on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Aviators fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 3-2. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avery Hartig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sycamore saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Friedersdorf, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Oak Hills, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sycamore will take on rival Lakota West at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oak Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
