Basketball Game Preview: Meadowcreek Mustangs vs. West Forsyth Wolverines

The Meadowcreek Mustangs will face off against the West Forsyth Wolverines on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Meadowcreek is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since January 4th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Duluth, sneaking past 55-53.

Meadowcreek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fred Williams, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayson Fleming, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 18 points.

Meanwhile, West Forsyth came up short against Lambert on Thursday and fell 68-55. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Longhorns are ranked 26th).

Meadowcreek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for West Forsyth, they dropped their record down to 13-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Meadowcreek against West Forsyth when the teams last played back in December of 2016, as the team secured an 83-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meadowcreek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
