Preview: Red Bank vs. Smith County
Smith County (9-3) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. It and Red Bank (10-2) face off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. With four games decides by three points or fewer, Smith County likes to keep its enemies close, so things could come down to the wire.
Smith County went up against Loudon last week. Smith County got first blood with a rushing touchdown in its first drive, but Loudon was able to respond with 13 first-half points. That put Smith County down 13 - 12. The offense took control in the second half, however, scoring 22 points. That put Smith County on top -- but just barely -- as it grazed past Loudon 34 - 33.
As for Red Bank, it has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling seven) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on York Institute last week with a conclusive 42 - 7 victory.
Red Bank and Smith County will be experiencing extra pressure in this one since they are each in the midst of a winning streak (Red Bank with five wins, Smith County with three). We'll see which team can handle the heat this Friday.
