Softball Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Salem Lions
The Triton Central Tigers will take on the Salem Lions at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Triton Central comes in on 15 and Salem on eight.

Brylie Couch made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Salem hadn't beaten Brownstown Central on the road since April 9, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Braves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted against the Braves since April 10, 2018.
Salem's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Triton Central, their win bumped their record up to 23-2.
