Volleyball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Kings vs. Hemlock Huskies
After flying high against Coleman on Thursday, Calvary Baptist Academy came back down to earth. The Kings fell just short of the Hemlock Huskies by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Kings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Calvary Baptist Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-19.
Hemlock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maycee Vanderwall out in front who had five digs and four aces. That's the most aces Vanderwall has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Brooke Gustin, who had 11 digs and two assists.
Calvary Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 24-6-1. As for Hemlock, they pushed their record up to 18-13-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Calvary Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hemlock, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Vestaburg on the 27th.
