Volleyball Game Preview: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Dixie Flyers

Crimson Cliffs has gone a perfect 4-0 against Dixie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Crimson Cliffs will look to defend their home court against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. Dixie took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Crimson Cliffs, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Crimson Cliffs beat Snow Canyon 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 15-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Crimson Cliffs can attribute much of their success to Colsen Neal, who had 18 digs and one assist, and Xander Vernon, who had 13 kills, four digs, and four aces. Neal has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Dana, who had 16 assists and seven digs.

Meanwhile, Dixie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Cedar.

Dixie started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-23.

Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Crimson Cliffs, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Crimson Cliffs took their win against Dixie in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Crimson Cliffs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dixie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
