It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but South Hills ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Los Altos Conquerors. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Conquerors: they've now won seven in a row.

Justin Romero looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gabriel Guerrero and Aiden Mirabal did most of the damage at the plate: Guerrero scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Mirabal scored a run while going 2-for-3.

South Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Los Altos struck out nine times.

South Hills pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Los Altos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9-1.

Coming up, South Hills will be taking part in a tournament against Beckman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Los Altos will be paying especially close attention to the Huskies' contest: after the Huskies faces off against South, they'll take on Los Altos again at 3:30 p.m. on the 16th.
