Basketball Recap: Ili Crockett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woods Cross over Viewmont

Woods Cross lost against Viewmont back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Woods Cross Wildcats took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Viewmont Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly ten points.

Woods Cross lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ili Crockett, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adia Cook, who went 5 of 12 to rack up 11 points and six boards.

Mary Carr was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds for Viewmont. That's the most points Carr has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Callie Peterson, who earned nine points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Woods Cross and nudges their season record down to 12-8. As for Viewmont, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Woods Cross has already played their next game, a 58-30 victory against Roy on the 7th. As for Viewmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-33 win against Northridge on the 7th.
