Basketball Recap: West Washington Comes Up Short

West Washington suffered their biggest loss since February 13, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 74-40 loss at the hands of the Christian Academy Warriors. The Senators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Joshua Renfro was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 29 points for Christian Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Renfro has scored at least a third of Christian Academy's points. Cooper Losey was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 13 points.

West Washington has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.

Looking ahead, West Washington will challenge Orleans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orleans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. As for Christian Academy, they will face off against Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st.
