The home team had won the previous three meetings between Russell and Skyview, and Russell kept the tradition alive. The Rustlers put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 32-8 win on Thursday. Considering the Rustlers have won three contests by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Russell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kane Mahlum, who rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. Caleb Taylor was another key player, rushing for 75 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Russell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 309 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Russell's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Russell's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Skyview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Russell will take on Great Falls at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Skyview, they will look to defend their home field on the 24th against Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
