Basketball Recap: Combine Academy Global's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Combine Academy Global unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Quality Education Academy Fighting Pharaohs an easy 78-54 win. The Goats were down 72-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Goats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sterling Bohn, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Bohn has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Eddington, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds.

Combine Academy Global's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Quality Education Academy, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Combine Academy Global will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Combine Academy Varsity at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. Combine Academy Varsity knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Combine Academy Global likes a good challenge. As for Quality Education Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th.
