Preview: Three Rivers Bulldogs vs. Woodsboro Eagles

Three Rivers has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Woodsboro Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Three Rivers, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Skidmore-Tynan. Three Rivers has not had much luck with Skidmore-Tynan recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Woodsboro had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over Yorktown on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Woodsboro has posted yet this season.

Woodsboro found their leader in underclassman Aniya Zena, who scored 28 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Zena scored 15 or more points. Jaqulynn Tully was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.

Three Rivers bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Woodsboro, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-20.

Three Rivers didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Woodsboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 33-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Three Rivers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
