Softball Recap: Mountain Brook Comes Up Short

Mountain Brook lost against Lincoln back in February of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mountain Brook Spartans fell just short of the Lincoln Golden Bears by a score of 5-4.

Reagan Rape and Marianna Murray stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rape scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Murray went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. That's the most stolen bases Rape has posted since back in April of 2024. Morgan Minich was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Mountain Brook lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Mountain Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lincoln, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Brook will face off against Briarwood Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will take on Oxford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
