Basketball Recap: Edgewood Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bayside, Edgewood was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Vero Beach Indians by a score of 39-30.

Vero Beach's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jazmyn Morris, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 21 boards, and Zy?Noria Ferguson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Ferguson a new career-high.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Vero Beach, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Edgewood and Vero Beach could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Edgewood (ranked 283rd) will meet Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy (ranked 29th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Vero Beach will square off against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday down 281 places (304 vs. 23).
