Preview: Van Buren Bulldogs vs. Clearwater Fightin' Tigers
Van Buren is on a three-game streak of home losses, Clearwater a 15-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Van Buren Bulldogs will take on the Clearwater Fightin' Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Van Buren came up short against Bakersfield and fell 61-51.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 67 points the game before, Clearwater were a bit more limited in their match last Saturday. They were dealt a 74-14 defeat at the hands of East Carter. While losing is never fun, Clearwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while East Carter is ranked 71st).
Van Buren's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Clearwater, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Van Buren against Clearwater in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-20 victory. Will Van Buren repeat their success, or does Clearwater have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
