Baseball Recap: Putnam City Comes Up Short

Putnam City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to the Piedmont Wildcats. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Putnam City's loss dropped their record down to 2-24. As for Piedmont, they pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

While Putnam City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
