Basketball Game Preview: Moorcroft Wolves vs. Big Horn Rams

Moorcroft hasn't had much luck against Big Horn recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Moorcroft Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Big Horn Rams at 4:30 p.m.

Moorcroft's tournament run continued when they took on Hot Springs on Saturday. Moorcroft had to suffer through a 65-31 loss at the hands of Hot Springs. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Big Horn waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 victory over the Eagles. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Moorcroft better focus on containing Avon Barney and Caleb Adsit as the pair were huge in Big Horn's win. Barney went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and three steals, while Adsit posted eight points and nine boards. Adsit is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolby Butler, who earned nine points.

Big Horn has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Moorcroft, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Moorcroft came up short against Big Horn when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 74-63. Can Moorcroft avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
