Softball Recap: Wharton Wildcats vs. Sumner Stingrays
Wharton lost against Sumner back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Stingrays by a score of 8-7.

Eliza Connell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wharton got a big performance out of Isabella Bass, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Cadicamo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Wharton's record now sits at 12-11. As for Sumner, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.
