Basketball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

Edison suffered their biggest loss since January 30th on Friday. They were dealt an 88-42 defeat at the hands of the Margaretta Polar Bears. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Polar Bears this season, with their most recent loss being a 69-35 defeat back in January.

Cole Leimeister and Coltyn Meagrow certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Leimeister shot 55% from the field en route to 14 points and five assists, while Meagrow posted 13 points along with six boards and three blocks. Leimeister is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Goodwin, who put up six points.

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Margaretta, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Margaretta, they will welcome Huron at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Polar Bears will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.91 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
