Softball Recap: Seaford Drops Season-High Score on Sts. Peter & Paul

Seaford's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Sts. Peter & Paul Sabres as they made off with a 22-7 win. The Bluejays' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Autumn Austin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Austin was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Cyonna Knowles was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Evans, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Seaford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory snapped Seaford's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seaford will venture away from home to face off against Polytech at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, they will head out to square off against Salisbury Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
