Baseball Recap: Monarch Victorious

Monarch got themselves on the board against Longmont on Thursday, but Longmont never followed suit. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coyotes.

Monarch got a great performance from Brody Montemayor as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Montemayor has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Blake Thompson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Logan Uhlenhake also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Monarch picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-11. As for Longmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monarch will take on Mead at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Longmont, they will square off against Golden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Demons have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
