Basketball Game Preview: Paw Paw Red Wolves vs. Niles Vikings

The Paw Paw Red Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Niles Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Paw Paw is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since February 2, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Catholic Central, sneaking past 40-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Wolves.

Meanwhile, Niles was able to grind out a solid victory over Sturgis on Friday, taking the game 44-37. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Trojans are ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Niles is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Paw Paw, their record now sits at 15-3.

Paw Paw came up short against Niles when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 65-61. Can Paw Paw avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
