Basketball Game Preview: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Poudre Impalas

Two dominant guards in Courtlyn Yaussi and Kavi Voglund are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Loveland Red Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Poudre Impalas at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-31, which was the final score in Loveland's tilt against Fossil Ridge on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the SaberCats are ranked 39th).

Despite the defeat, Loveland had strong showings from Yaussi, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals, and Emily Rivera, who had four points and seven rebounds. That was a full 41.9% of Loveland's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Poudre was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Greeley West 51-20. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Impalas.

Poudre's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Loveland, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
