The Saugerties Sawyers are taking a road trip to face off against the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saugerties is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Saugerties barely beat New Paltz the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sawyers were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Huguenots on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Sawyers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alaina Conrad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Lily Malgieri was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Sullivan, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Guilderland came up short against Niskayuna on Wednesday and fell 8-5. The Flying Dutchmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hallie Czajka and Grace Olochnowicz did some serious damage despite the final result: Czajka scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Olochnowicz scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Saugerties now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Guilderland, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Saugerties couldn't quite get it done against Guilderland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Sawyers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
