Basketball Recap: Holy Trinity Classical Christian Takes a Loss

Holy Trinity Classical Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 29th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors, falling 69-18. The Mighty Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

It was another big night for Gage Dicks, who went 16 for 22 en route to 33 points and six steals for Andrew Jackson Academy. Dicks has become a key player for Andrew Jackson Academy: the team is 12-3 when he posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizuh Davis, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Holy Trinity Classical Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Trinity Classical Christian will challenge Cross at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they will face off against Cathedral Academy at 7:10 p.m. on Monday. Andrew Jackson Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Cathedral Academy likes a good challenge.
