Ashe County has gone 8-1 against West Wilkes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Huskies will look to defend their home field against the Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. Ashe County has given up an average of 35.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Ashe County was beaten by East Wilkes 47-14. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Cardinals are ranked 147th).

Despite the defeat, Ashe County got top-tier performance from Jaxon Dillard, who picked up 71 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 38 yards.

Meanwhile, while West Wilkes put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Elkin. The Blackhawks blew past the Buckin' Elks 55-0. The Blackhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 26 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for West Wilkes and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Ashe County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Ashe County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against West Wilkes in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-15 win.
