Basketball Recap: Ansonia Comes Up Short

Ansonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks and fell 62-27. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-34 back in December of 2025.

Ansonia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Mississinawa Valley, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Ansonia will welcome Preble Shawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mississinawa Valley, they will take on Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks will be up against the Railroaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.69 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
