Softball Recap: Westview Handles Bennington

Westview's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Bennington Badgers by a score of 10-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolverines needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The team relied heavily on Naomi Tackitt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while logging 1 home run, 4 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 double. Those three hits set a new season-high mark for her.

On Bennington's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maren Hogan, who went 1-for-3 while logging 2 RBIs, 1 double, and 1 walk. The game marked Hogan's first with multiple RBIs this season.

Westview's record is currently 14-7. As for Bennington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's taken a bite out of their 6-17 record this season.

Westview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-3 defeat against Skutt Catholic on the 3rd. Bennington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
