Softball Recap: West Chicago Has No Trouble Against Ridgewood

West Chicago came out on top against Ridgewood on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Rebels. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 back in April.

Jasmyn Trigueros was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last eight matchups.

In other batting news, Brielle Borner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Molly Ferenbach was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

West Chicago was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgewood only posted a batting average of .176.

West Chicago's record now sits at 14-9. As for Ridgewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

West Chicago didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Glenbard South on the 7th. As for Ridgewood, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-5 victory against Fenton on the 6th.
