Softball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Taylor Titans

The Tipton Blue Devils will face off against the Taylor Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tipton couldn't beat Clinton Prairie on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Blue Devils came up short against the Gophers, falling 15-5. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Gophers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lucy Niccum was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Taylor and Carroll meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Titans lost 24-1 to the Cougars.

Tipton's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Tipton's way against Taylor when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Tipton made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
