Basketball Game Preview: Jordan Falcons vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers

Jordan is 4-0 against Durham Academy since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Jordan Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Durham Academy Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. Jordan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Last Friday, Jordan humbled Riverside-Durham with a 58-18 victory. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Jordan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Yancey, who posted 25 points. With that strong performance, Yancey is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Masella, who had 17 points.

Meanwhile, Durham Academy didn't have quite enough to beat North Raleigh Christian Academy on Friday and fell 43-40. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordan pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Durham Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Jordan strolled past Durham Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 50-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jordan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
