After flying high against College Park Academy last Monday, the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers came back down to earth. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North was dealt a 80-6 defeat at the hands of Oxon Hill on Tuesday. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-2.
Oxon Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliyah Conteh out in front who scored 23 points along with seven steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Conteh posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Williams, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North dropped their record down to 5-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Oxon Hill, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North on the road again on Monday and play against Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. As for Oxon Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Friendly at 6:00 p.m.
