Basketball Recap: Ringgold Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Antravion Kinsey and Ladaunte Mccoy

Ringgold was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mansfield Wolverines. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Ringgold's loss came despite strong showings from LaDaunte McCoy and AnTravion Kinsey. McCoy almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Kinsey went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points. The game was McCoy's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keenan Johnson, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Ringgold's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mansfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-7.

Ringgold wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-49 victory against North Caddo on the 13th. As for Mansfield, they will head out to face off against Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mansfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
