Basketball Game Preview: Lackey Chargers vs. Fairfax Christian Cardinals

The Lackey Chargers will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Fairfax Christian Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Lackey is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against McDonough. The Chargers blew past the Rams 60-36 on Monday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Malik Gordon had a dynamite game, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 19 points along with seven steals and five assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sevyn Evans, who went 5-for-7 en route to 14 points and three steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Lackey was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McDonough only posted seven.

Meanwhile, Fairfax Christian made easy work of Rosedale Christian Academy on Thursday and carried off an 80-58 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.
