Caldwell won the last time they faced Navasota and things went their way  on Friday too. Caldwell blew past Navasota 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won six matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Samone Clark was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  firing off two  home runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. Those  two  home runs gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Molly Meadows was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.  Jaelyn Gest was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with two  doubles and one  RBI.
 Caldwell was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .394. They are 5-1-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Caldwell has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8-1 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.2 runs over those games. Navasota's defeat was  their third straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 2-8.
Caldwell will have a chance to go back-to-back against Navasota: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
