Basketball Recap: New Faith Christian Academy Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

New Faith Christian Academy won the last time they faced Carver, and Ashtain Preston did his part to make sure it happened again. The New Faith Christian Academy Titans walked away with an 83-72 win over the Carver Panthers on Friday thanks in part to Preston, who went 9-for-14 en route to 23 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (64%).

Harry Egbayelo was another key player, putting up three points along with 22 rebounds and three blocks. Egbayelo is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Carver had strong showings from Jacory Pickett, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 31 points, and Adonis Wimbush, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Wimbush has become a key player for Carver: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 20 points, but 2-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Rogers, who posted five points and seven boards.

New Faith Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points over those games. As for Carver, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.
