Volleyball Recap: Emma Russell Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Tug Valley

Sherman won the last time they faced Tug Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tide came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tide.

Sherman walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Sherman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Russell, who had seven digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Russell a new career-high in assists (47). Another player making a difference was Audrina Smith, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Sherman's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Tug Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sherman will head out to take on Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tug Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
