Baseball Recap: Scurry-Rosser Wildcats vs. Rice Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grand Saline, Scurry-Rosser was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Rice Bulldogs 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.
Lincoln Wagner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
