Basketball Recap: Adam Lawson Key Part of Team Effort in Warriors Win

With a playoff win on the line, Harvest Community rose to the challenge on Monday. They snuck past the Beaches Chapel Lions with a 61-57 win. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Lions two weeks ago, they had to take a 40-35 loss.

Harvest Community got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam Lawson out in front who went 10-for-17 to rack up 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Lawson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Justin Parsons, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 17 points along with eight boards and six assists.

Harvest Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 18 consecutive games.

Beaches Chapel's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Dorsey, who posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave Dorsey a new career-high. Noah Salazar was another key player, putting up 16 points and seven rebounds.

Harvest Community's win bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Beaches Chapel, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

Harvest Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-21 defeat against Impact Christian Academy on the 5th. Beaches Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
