Volleyball Recap: Newington Wins Going Away Against Xavier

Newington not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024. They blew past the Xavier Falcons 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Nor'easters in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-12.

Alejandro Echols paced Newington's offense, picking up ten kills. Echols got some help from Tristan Gorman and his 29 assists. Gorman also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Seng Singkhamlon, racking up four apiece.

Newington's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Xavier, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newington will take on Glastonbury at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Xavier, they will challenge Cheshire at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
