Volleyball Recap: Berlin Comes Up Short

Berlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Ripon Tigers. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Berlin was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Ripon's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 26-24.

Ripon can attribute much of their success to Rayna Trochinski, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most aces Trochinski has posted over her last five matches.

Berlin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Ripon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Berlin and Ripon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Indians (ranked 313th) will meet Wisconsin Dells (ranked 156th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ripon will take on Laconia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (239 vs. 92).
