Football Recap: Vidalia Indians vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets
Vidalia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 31-14 bruising from the Savannah Country Day Hornets.
Leading Savannah Country Day to victory were Hyers Holland and Isaiah Batten. Holland gained 140 total yards and a touchdown, while Batten threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Batten a new career-high in rushing yards (seven). A healthy portion of Batten's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Jerimiah Brown.
Vidalia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Savannah Country Day, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Vidalia will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pierce County at 6:30 p.m. Pierce County's defense has only allowed 7.6 points per game this season, so Vidalia's offense will have their work cut out for them. Savannah Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
